1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this statement is to provide the client and involved authorities with the information concerning methods, techniques, equipment and personnel to be employed in carrying out the maintenance, accessories verification and Test Inspection of a Gas tank by OFIMES TECH in a safe and efficient manner.
- DEFINITIONS. UUT: Unit Under Test.
UUI:..Inspection
GT: Gas Tester
PG: Pressure Gauge.
Test: Observation of a test unit operation for defect or correctness verification: Validating the correctness of the test unit.
Calibration: comparison of measuring equipment against a standard instrument of higher accuracy with an unbroken chain of traceability
PPE: Personal Protective Equipment.
3. SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement establishes the requirement for maintenance, test and Inspection of gas tank
- Mobilization of Project team and equipment to site
- Assembling/mounting of Test equipment
- preparation of Unit Under Test for test equipment
- Dismounting of Unit Under Test from test equipment
- Returning of Unit Under Test to service
4. RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the overall responsibility of Oceanic Field Maintenance to ensure Technician performing the task has relevant experience in according to the relevant project specifications, in compliance with quality, schedule & HSE requirements and are certified to do so.
5. TEST EQUIPMENT CONTROL AND TRACEABILITY
Equipment critical to the operation of this process shall be itself calibrated and certified by a third party. The calibration record shall be maintained on a controlled format available during the course of the calibration.
6. EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE DURING USE
- EQUIPEMENT UNDER TEST be required to operate within the required maintained condition to ensure protection against the effects of local weather in a controlled environment.
- All Operating controls & Instruments and UUT shall be calibrated in the calibration Lab as per their relative procedure.
- The calibration data shall be recorded on their respective formats. Install a sticker mentioning the details i.e. date, type, rate, location and the particular ID number.
- The Equipment nonconformed with the test procedures shall be recommended for adequate correction and reverification before putting back to use.

8. VISUAL TEST/ INSPECTION
Field Inspection of Equipment under Maintenance
- Co-ordinate all test/Inspection with Vendors and other Inspectors to ensure there is no interference with project progress or other project work, also to ensure equipment is under safe working condition.
- Ensure all necessary isolation is done.
9. PROCEDURES
GAS TANK MAINTENANCE
- Prepare the Equipment for Test/ inspection in accordance to standard requirements, read the information given on the Equipment, such as working temperature, safe operation tags and specifications supplied along with by the vendor.
- Setup the leak test equipment and connect to equipment under test as appropriate.
- Test all required arear for leaks and record all findings for recommendations where needed.
- Test for tank plate Thickness at different points, compare with initial thickness to ensure tank is still fit to operate under the operation standard required.
- Inspect and test all system valves and safety valves using the required test pressure and confirm all connections are firm against leaks.
- Recalibrate all operation controls, such as safety valves, pressure gauges, temperature gage.
- Record values and compare with the standard values and process values for equipment.
- Service and clean feed water line confirm feed water, ensure that sprinklers are all okey and replace all replaceable.
- Clean condensate tank, chimneys and inspect for corrosion where applicable
- Record all inspection and the results.
- Observe that the current value conforms to required operational specifics
- Witness all testing to ensure compliance with the contract documents, sign/date all records comprehensive report containing as a minimum where applicable.
- After completing the process, report shall be recorded on their respective formats. The Equipment shall be certified or reported based on findings
10 HSE INSTRUCTIONS
- Efforts shall be made to keep the environment clean.
- No smoking is permitted in restricted areas.
- Always ensure that the maintenance, Inspection and test process follows procedure manual and special recommendation from manufacturer.
- All test, inspection and maintenance activities shall be according to the specification.
- Only trained engineers, inspectors and technicians shall perform the work.
ALL ENGINEERING WORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAFETY FRAMEWORK
