Visual Examination is a method of NDT that has been neglected for much of its industrial application life. VT though being the first NDT method used in the industry was the last method to be acknowledged.
It is used to determine the surface condition of the part, reinforcement and undercutting of welds, alignment of mating surfaces, shape or evidence of leaking.
